AB The method has been developed of the bottom sediments toxicity assessment using two species of the aquatic invertebrates − benthic Chironomus riparius and planktonic Daphnia magna. The method can be used also for analysis of the toxicants' bioavailability in the model experiments at the toxicants' adding either to the bottom sediments or to water. Reliability of the method has been shown in analysis of the natural bottom sediments with different toxicity rate.
