T1 THE EFFECT OF THE POLYMER MATRIX ORIENTATION ON THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF POLYVINYL CHLORIDE/BORON NITRIDE NANOCOMPOSITES JF Nanoscience and Technology: An International Journal JO NST YR 2017 FD 2017-11-29 VO 8 IS 3 SP 193 OP 201 K1 nanocomposite K1 boron nitride K1 percolation theory K1 aggregation K1 degree of reinforcement K1 strength AB The change in the type of the reinforcing component and, hence, the category of nanostructured polyvinyl chloride/boron nitride composites, has a decisive influence on the main mechanical characteristics (the degree of reinforcement and strength) of these nanomaterials. These changes can be described in quantitative terms within the framework of the percolation model of reinforcement. It is shown that when anisotropic plates of 2D nanofiller reach the percolation threshold both the degree of reinforcement and the strength of nanocomposites decrease strongly.
