The image is presented as a sum of elliptic components with Gaussian brightness distribution; their position, intensity, inclination, magnitude and axes relationship are adjusted in the course of model selection. To coordinate the models with experimental data, the criterion χ2 is used. The main relationships for calculations, simulation algorithms, the ways of grouping and selecting solutions, the methods of error calculation are given. The characteristic features of the model selection of brightness distribution over visibility function modules measured by means of URAN interferometer system are shown using the example of 3C 338 radio galaxy.
