T1 MODIFICATION OF HYPEREUTECTIC SILUMIN SURFACE LAYER BY A HIGH-INTENSITY PULSE ELECTRON BEAM JF High Temperature Material Processes: An International Quarterly of High-Technology Plasma Processes JO HTM YR 2015 FD 2016-01-25 VO 19 IS 1 SP 85 OP 91 K1 hypereutectic silumin K1 high-intensity pulse electron beam K1 structure K1 strength properties K1 tribological properties AB The results of an analysis of the elemental and phase composition, defect substructure, strength and tribological characteristics of hypereutectic silumin before and after irradiation by a highintensity pulse electron beam are presented. The formation of a modified surface layer with the thickness of up to 1000 μm after irradiation has been revealed. The modified layer has enhanced strength and tribological characteristics.
