T1 Coupling Impedances and Radiation Efficiencies of Horizontal Electric Dipoles Placed Above the Earth Surface JF Telecommunications and Radio Engineering JO TRE YR 2002 FD 2002-04-01 VO 57 IS 4 OP 7 AB The radiation from coupled horizontal Hertz electrical dipoles placed near a plane interface of two media is analyzed. Expressions have been derived for the coupling impedance, coupling radiation resistance and loss resistance of the dipoles above the real earth. Relations are also given for estimating the radiation efficiency of an antenna array composed of such dipoles with arbitrary current distributions in the array. The coupling resistances of horizontal dipoles are analyzed as functions of the dipole separation, and the radiation efficiency of the array discussed in dependence on the phasing angle. Numerical results are discussed. PB Begell House LK https://www.dl.begellhouse.com/journals/0632a9d54950b268,5f37389b56aa78ad,171135e6499ca54e.html
