AB Specific peculiarities of microphytobenthos development in the upper section of the Kanev Reservoir at different stages of the regulation of the middle reaches of the Dnieper River are discussed in the paper. It has been found that during the whole period of investigations microphytobenthos of the Kanev Reservoir was represented by Bacillariophyta, Chlorophyta, Cyanophyta, and Euglenophyta. However, the structure of the community, the quantitative indices of its development, and species number changed.
