AB Three-dimensional transient natural convection in an inclined cylinder having walls of finite thickness in conditions of convective heat exchange with an environment has been studied numerically. A mathematical model written in dimensionless variables such as the modified vorticity functions, vector potential, and temperature has been solved using an iterative implicit finite-difference method. The heat transfer characteristics of the cylinder have been analyzed using the velocity and temperature fields. Special emphasis was paid to the effects of the Rayleigh and Prandtl numbers, a transient factor, and a thermal conductivity ratio.
