Comparisons of computed and measured results are made for a wide range of conditions. Adequate agreement is obtained in all cases. In the case of modeling the liquid penetration in vaporizing sprays, a lack of understanding of the atomization process is shown to be a limitation. The two-fluid modeling approach is shown to give numerically converged results for liquid penetration and spray dispersion angle, unlike the Lagrangian-drop Eulerian-fluid (LDEF) approach which is widely employed in multidimensional spray models.
