However, the dense spectrum of these oscillations is an obstacle for their use as microwave components. In particular, the intermode interaction of oscillations results in the distortion of amplitude-frequency characteristics. The investigation of peculiarities of this interaction allows one to understand conditions for their excitation and to find the possibilities to avoid them. The peculiarities of the inter-type interaction in the quasi-optical dielectric disk resonator, excited at higher azimuthal modes, in the case of internal excitation of parasitic oscillations in a single disk are investigated experimentally. The influence of a discontinuity, introduced with a coupling element between the resonator and dielectric waveguide, on the resonance characteristics is studied. It is shown, that this influence can be compensated by insertion of an additional discontinuity. Also, it is shown that parameters of the double-humped resonance characteristic strongly depend on the azimuthal position of this discontinuity. Up to date the intermode interaction was investigated only in case of the external excitation, using two disk dielectric resonators. The results obtained can be used as a method for selection of a spectrum of oscillations in disk dielectric resonators.
