Reburning is an in-furnace combustion modification technology for the reduction of nitrogen oxides. Results from the experimental campaign indicate that it was possible to achieve an emission reduction of nitrogen oxides of around 50%, while keeping unburned carbon between 5 and 8%, burning a variety of coals.
A heat transfer analysis of the Vado Ligure boiler after the retrofit shows that a decrease in furnace exit gas temperature on the order of 40°C is found when the operation is switched from baseline to reburn. %8 2005-06-07
