AB The environomical − environmental and economical − analysis is extremely important for any system due to the increase in the cost of raw material, depletion of precious fossil fuel at an escalating rate, supply of raw materials, and higher environmental impact. The impact of our system on the environment is also an important issue in order to make it environmentally friendly. Hence in this paper both energy analysis and payback period are calculated for the standalone hybrid solar PVT collector. An experimental model of the PVT collector was designed and developed at the Energy Center of the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal (India), and then it was tested under different fluid flow conditions. The energy analysis includes: embodied energy, CO2 emissions per year, energy payback time, payback period by cost, carbon mitigation, and carbon credit. The embodied energy of the present hybrid photovoltaic thermal collector is very low which is 624.49 kWh. The life span of this collector is taken as thirty five years. Hence, the CO2 emission per year is 17.48 kg.
