An electrochemical method was used to measure friction on the wall. A conductivity probe located on the pipe axis was used to separate gas slugs and liquid plugs. Signals from both probes were recorded simultaneously for various values of reduced gas and liquid velocities. Using the technique of conventional averaging, the flow structure in liquid plugs and at the time of passage of gas slugs was obtained. It is shown that in the beginning of a liquid plug there is a region of reduced friction, the length of which is approximately equal to twice the pipe diameter. %8 2004-06-08
