T1 MODELING OF EVOLUTION OF THE COARSE FRACTION OF CONDENSED COMBUSTION PRODUCTS ON A SURFACE OF BURNING ALUMINIZED PROPELLANT AND WITHIN A COMBUSTION PRODUCTS FLOW JF International Journal of Energetic Materials and Chemical Propulsion JO IJEMCP YR 2017 FD 2017-12-27 VO 16 IS 1 SP 23 OP 38 K1 condensed products K1 agglomerating particle K1 agglomerate K1 evolution K1 numerical model AB The paper is devoted to generalization of results of theoretical studies of the coarse fraction of condensed combustion products evolution at burning of aluminized solid propellants. The evolution of coarse condensed combustion products is represented by a set of phenomena from emergence and staying of individual agglomerating particles on surface of burning propellant to subsequent agglomerates motion within combustion products flow. Developed models describe the phenomena at the evolution with considering of propellant surface and multiphase flow features. Agglomerating particles evolution on surface of burning propellant is described as a final part of the agglomeration process. For the agglomerates evolution within multiphase flow, the non-uniform flow nature, interactions of agglomerates with gaseous combustion products, and smoke oxide are taken into account. Numerical analysis of developed models was performed. Comparison of modeling and experimental results for a several cases allowed us to make a conclusion about modeling adequacy. The models allow us to determine a set of properties of the coarse condensed combustion products depending on propellant formulation, burning conditions, agglomeration regularities, and geometric configuration of computational region.
