T1 A Quasioptimum Algorithm for Narrow-Band Signal Detection against Random Noise Background JF Telecommunications and Radio Engineering JO TRE YR 2004 FD 2005-12-27 VO 61 IS 7-12 SP 999 OP 1012 AB A coherent averaging technique is suggested for detection and parameter estimation of narrow-band signals observed against the background of additive random noise. Expressions have been obtained for the mean value and variance of the spectral density estimate. The algorithm is compared with the optimum filtering and incoherent averaging methods. Results of numerical simulation are presented and of the algorithm application to detecting the coherent ELF signals arising from demodulation of powerful high frequency AM radiation due to nonlinearity of the ionospheric plasma.
