Testing Microchannel Heat Sink under Saturated Flow Boiling Conditions
ABSTRAKT
In this paper, flow boiling conditions in multi microchannel heat sink setup was experimentally tested. Eighteen channels, each having diameter of (400±09) µm and length of (40±0.4) mm were constructed in a square piece made of copper material. Water and Ethanol were used as coolants. The following parameters were ranged: mass flow of coolant from 14.1 kg/m2s to 46.6 kg/m2s, heat input from 10.2 KW/m2 to 66.2 KW/m2 and quality from subcooled to 0.6. Testing of the setup produced positive results. The flow boiling heat transfer coefficient exhibited decreasing trend with increasing quality for both the coolants. Higher values of heat transfer coefficients in case of water relative to ethanol were observed.
