Computational analysis of combustion behaviour in CI engine with the application of different PM materials has been studied using a CFD package, ANSYS17.1. The PM materials used are SiC, Al2O3 and ZrO2 inside the combustion chamber and the environment is set for 100% load. The porosity of the PM is considered to be 66.7% approximately to maintain the standard compression ratio of 17.5 of conventional diesel engine. Comparison of combustion behaviour analysis is performed without and with the presence of different PM materials. The validation of CFD results for PM has been conducted with the state of the art literature. The outcome of the study constitutes the analysis of average temperature, pressure variation, mean mixture fraction and NOX.
