ABSTRAKT
A mathematical tool for the automatized analysis of complex heat exchangers arrangements is summarized in this paper. Special attention to the actual temperature gradients is given, where a strict mathematical model is solved to produce temperature profiles for the shell and each tube pass. The model is represented by a set of Σ(Ni+1), i=1,m differential equations (Ni = number of passes for the ith equipment, m = number of equipments) plus the corresponding continuity equations for each stream joint or split. A numerical integration method is applied for the solution, coupled with an iterative technique imposed by the class of the system boundaries.
