Abstrakt

In this paper, a new approach to describe the radiative heat transfer in particulate media is presented using a multiphase radiative transfer equation. Comparisons with available Monte Carlo results for large opaque and semi-transparent particles are made. Good results are obtained for opaque particles whereas the model fails for semi-transparent particles due to transportation effects across the particles.
