An Open Resonator with a "Non-Focusing" Mirror

ABSTRACT

A rigorous mathematical model has been constructed, using the analytical regularization technique, for an open resonator with a "non-focusing" reflector. Analysis of the structure's eigenfrequency spectrum has shown that by properly selecting the geometric parameters it should be possible to obtain one resonance of sufficiently high quality factor within a frequency band of one octave in width.
