ABSTRACT
The paper presents real characteristics and design of linear antennas with fixed and changeable positioning of the beam. Operability of the antennas is verified by the results of their testing in radiometric and radar systems of various applications. A dielectric ridged waveguide is used in these antennas in the capacity of the open guide line supporting propagation of surface waves that "sweep" the periodic structure and originate spatial waves radiated in free space.
