Method of Multiparametric Diagnostics of a Transpirationally Cooled Porous Cylindrical Wall

ABSTRACT

The paper presents the results of experimental and theoretical investigations of new methods for comprehensive diagnostics of the thermal state of transpirationally cooled cylindrical walls of power plants made from porous refractory materials. The techniques of determining thermophysical characteristics are based on the measurement of a rise in the pressure of a cooling gas, supplied at a constant mass flow rate, at the inlet to a porous wall whose inner surface is subjected to intense heating. The measurement of the cooling gas pressure rise is carried out for a steady state of the wall. The magnitude measured makes it possible to determine the temperature of the outer and inner surfaces of the wall, thermal stresses in it, the boundaries of the zones of elastoplastic deformations, magnitude of heat flux on the wall, as well as the effective thermal conductivity of the porous material of the wall.
