ABSTRACT

Osteoporosis has become a national epidemic. The comprehensive treatment of the population at risk for or already with osteoporosis includes education, nutrition, pharmaceutical management, and various rehabilitative interventions. Rehabilitation will include instructions in proper exercise, fall and fracture prevention, and pain management. Through various forms of therapy, one can limit the deleterious outcomes of osteoporosis and promote maximal functional status and general well being.
