UNSTEADY HEAT TRANSFER IN ELLIPTICAL COORDINATES INVOLVING CONVECTIVE HEAT TRANSFER THROUGH BOUNDARIES

Abstract

Unsteady two dimensional heat transfer problem in elliptical domain with boundary conditions of third kind (convection), in the presence of internal generation of energy is considered. A unique integral transformation, suitable for this specific boundary value problem, is developed. Two computational methods for solving the problem, based on integral transformations, are described and recommendations for use their are proposed. An approximate closed form analytical solution is also derived. The results of the computations of a numerical example are given.
