Microwave Effective Medium Approximation for Two-Component Metamaterial with Saturated Cylindrical Ferrite Like Metal Inclusions

SINOPSIS

In this paper, we consider magnetic properties of two component metamaterial medium as host dielectric material (air) embedded periodically with iron cylindrical rods saturated with a biasing magnetic field in the microwave frequency range. Using Effective Medium Theory for two component undiluted composites for infinite/long cylindrical metal inclusions and microwave extension of the Effective Medium Approximation for polycrystalline ferrites, the expressions for effective permeability tensors of the considered metamaterial medium have been obtained in microwave approximation. The expressions of effective magnetic constant for the case of the microwave propagation transverse to bias have been obtained as well.
