Comparison Analysis of Computation of the Error Probability for Different Schemes of Coherent Fiber-Optic Transmission Systems with PM

SINOPSIS

Coherent phase-frequency manipulation (CPFM) is the most suitable modulation scheme in transmission systems with wavelength-division multiplexing due to the narrow range and the possibility of direct frequency modulation of DFB lasers. Formulas and recommendations for computing the error probability for three basic types of coherent fiber-optic transmission systems (CFOTSs) are presented.
