ELECTRICALLY LARGE LOOP ANTENNA FOR RECEIVING UWB PULSED FIELDS
SINOPSIS
The causes of origination of the afterpulse current oscillations in electrically large loop antennas are clarified based on the analysis of the results of simulation of the space-time current distributions induced by the field electric and magnetic components in the circular and rectangular loops. It is determined that the pulse shape distortion is stipulated by availability of the current induced by the electric component of the incident field. The current induced by the magnetic component has to be separated from total current to provide for the undistorted reception. It is experimentally confirmed that the undistorted reception can be provided for by means of summation of the signals recorded in the diametrically opposite sections of the circular loop.
