SINOPSIS
The efficiency of various ecological indices (Margalef’s, Menhinick’s, Shannon’s, Simpson’s, Hurlbet’s, saprobic indices, as well as cluster analysis) based on phytoplankton communities were studied while assessing eutrophication processes in lakes. Only Menhinick’s index and cluster analysis proved to be effective in determination of the eutrophication level of lakes.
