SINOPSIS
It has been found that the species composition and quantitative indices of phytoplankton of the Kiev section of the Kanev reservoir are subjected to wide fluctuations during a day. The increase in the species diversity of phytoplankton at the expense of the algal flora arriving from adjacent canals, bays, and lakes is conditioned by daily operating conditions of the Kiev Hydro-Electric Power Station characterized by the availability of two peaks.
