Radioecological Problems of Aquatic Ecosystems: 25 Years after the Accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station

SINOPSIS

Results of radioecological investigations of aquatic ecosystems carried out for 25 years after the accident at the Chernobyl NPS are given in the paper. Dynamics of radionuclide content in abiotic and biotic components of water bodies of the Chernobyl exclusion zone and of the Dnieper River and its reservoirs, and also the peculiarities of the formation of irradiation doses on hydrobionts and a wide spectrum of radiation effects in biosystems of different levels of organization, are analyzed.
