SINOPSIS

The composition and biocenotic structure of zoobenthos of the cooling pond of the Chernobyl NPS were studied after its removal from service. Data on the structure of the distinguished communities are presented. Unimodal relationship was established between the indices of zoobenthos diversity and water saprobity. The prediction of changes in the structure of zoobenthos communities in the case of partial drainage of the cooling pond was elaborated.
