SINOPSIS

Melting and solidification of two-component ceramics under action of concentrated energy fluxes are studied together with diffusion mass transfer. The position and temperature of phase transition front are unknown a priori and are determined from numerical solution of coupled heat and diffusion mass transfer problems. The temperature of solid/liquid interface is a function of phase-change front velocity and composition. The concentration and temperature fields are obtained.
