INVESTIGATION OF ACOUSTIC FLUCTUATIONS IN A FLOW WITH PERMEABLE BOUNDARIES USING HOT-WIRE ANEMOMETRY
SINOPSIS
Results of an experimental study of the fluctuation structure in the transonic test section of the wind tunnel T-325 of the ITAM with various permeable boundaries (perforated, slotted) as well as with solid boundaries are presented. The data on the spectral structure of fluctuations are obtained, and the mass flow, the total temperature fluctuations, and the correlation coefficients between them are measured. The flow fluctuations in the test section of T-325 are found to be mainly consisted of the acoustic fluctuations generated by various localized and distributed sources. The fine wire screens mounted on the permeable walls of the test section are shown to be used for the level of acoustic fluctuation reduction. Comparison between the characteristics of the flow fluctuations in the test section of the wind tunnel with the variable wall permeability and the analogous characteristics in the test section with the solid walls is carried out.
