CALCULATION OF PERIODIC VISCOUS FLOWS INITIATED BY NEAR-WALL BODY FORCE
SINOPSIS
The two-dimensional steady flows of a viscous incompressible fluid in the half-space above a plane caused by a longitudinally-periodic near-wall body force were theoretically studied. The dependencies of the flow parameters on the modulation period, impact area width, and intensity of the force were investigated. A comparison of the results obtained within the framework of the full system of the Navier−Stokes equations and Prandtl boundary layer concept was made. The calculation of the relevant boundary problems was performed by expanding the flow parameters in a Fourier series with respect to the longitudinal variable and the second-order accuracy finite-difference approximation with respect to the vertical variable.
