SINOPSIS

The paper focuses on the main stages of creating a diagnostic system for predicting the composition of municipal solid waste (MSW) and the calorific value of its components on the basis of processing signals fed from a measuring system and signifying the components' concentration in the combustion products after the recovery boiler with account for the air used for burning. The parametric sensitivity of the developed diagnostic system has been studied. The work provides an example of its application within the general diagnostic complex aimed at performing and analyzing instantaneous heat balances of the recovery boiler burning MSW.
