Centric diatoms (Centrophyceae, Bacillariophyta) in plankton of Lake Ladoga and it tributaries

SINOPSIS

The first electron-microscopy study of phytoplankton from Lake Ladoga and its tributaries revealed 34 Centrophyceae taxa including 10 species and varieties new for lake flora of Bacillariophyta (Cyclotella - 4, Sceletonema - 1, Stephanodiscus - 5), as well as some interesting forms in the tributaries, especially of genus Aulacoseira (A. distans var. nivaloides, A. humilis, A. tenella, A. tenuior, A. tethera).
