Electromagnetic Wave Diffraction by a Structure of Finite Extent Consisting of Nonequidistant Strips of Different Widths. Comparison of Full-Wave Spectral and Operator Methods %U https://www.dl.begellhouse.com/journals/0632a9d54950b268,7a4d130f0d7cfbdc,0cd99c24584b45eb.html %V 51 %X The problem of electromagnetic wave diffraction by a nonequidistant plane structure of finite extent, consisting of strips of different widths has been solved using a full-wave spectral method and an operator method. A comparison of these rigorous methods is carried out and advantages of each method are discussed. Scattering cross-sections are compared for the cases of two strips of different widths and two identical strips, the total width of strips remaining constant in both cases. The influence of strip coupling on the scattering pattern, and other diffractional effects are studied. Physical features of the waves diffraction by gratings consisting of strips of the different widths can be used in nonsymmetrical microstrip transmission lines, multi-frequency resonant filters, polarizers and diffractional antennas of leaky waves. %8 1997-05-01
