T1 HYDROPHOBICITY ANALYSIS OF ORGANOSILANE TEMPLATED HIERARCHICAL MESOPOROUS MFI ZEOLITES BY ADVANCED WATER ADSORPTION STUDY JF Catalysis in Green Chemistry and Engineering JO CGCE YR 2018 FD 2018-07-10 VO 1 IS 3 SP 189 OP 200 K1 hydrophobicity K1 organosilane K1 water adsorption AB A series of organosilane templated hierarchical mesoporous MFI zeolites were successfully synthesized with varied Si/Al ratios and the synthesized samples were characterized by different analysis tools such as powder X-ray diffraction, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, N2 adsorption, etc. In order to obtain precise knowledge about the pore size, surface chemistry, distribution of Al species within the zeolite framework, and the nature of micropores and mesopores toward water adsorption, synthesized hierarchical mesoporous ZSM-5 samples were also analyzed by using advanced water adsorption study. It was observed that the present synthesis method is very effective for the synthesis of highly thermostable hierarchical mesoporous MFI zeolites having superior physicochemical properties. Also, water adsorption study of these MFI zeolites provides important knowledge about their hydrophobic nature, which will make these materials very attractive for catalytic applications having water as the solvent or product since zeolites lose their crystallinity and activity in aqueous media. The effects of different parameters on the porous properties of synthesized hierarchical mesoporous ZSM-5, such as the Si/Al ratio, calcination temperature, template ratio, etc., are discussed in detail.
