Many issues surround the ethical use of ionizing radiation. As ethics is, by its nature, an evolving medium, herein, we review ethical issues regarding the use of radiation as it pertains to modern-day ethical principles. In addition, we focus on a few specific issues of importance. The paper is essentially divided into three areas. The first is a history of radiation and radiation ethics.
