CALCULATION OF SUPERSONIC MIST FLOW WITH SHOCK WAVES BY NEW SUBSONIC METHOD

Sinopsis

Convergent-divergent nozzles for one-component two-phase flow have a potential application in the total-flow systems of geothermal and waste-heat recovery power generation plant. However, such nozzles, which transform thermal energy into kinetic energy, are not yet suitable for commercial application due to their low energy conversion efficiency. Supersonic shock waves with velocity and temperature relaxation must be researched in order to develop high efficiency nozzles. A new method of calculating supersonic mist flow is presented in this paper. Supersonic shock waves are simulated as subsonic dispersed shock waves. The results obtained from this subsonic method are in good agreement with the results of jump equations that consider the conservation of mass and momentum in supersonic mist flow.
