SINOPSIS
Although transpiration cooling is the most effective cooling method, a few papers on this problem have been published. The authors have investigated on this problem. These papers, however, deal with the cooling of a plate heated by convection. In the high temperature region which necessitates transpiration cooling, it is natural that radiation plays a dominant role rather than convection. However, very few papers on transpiration cooling which concerned with radiation have been published. The present paper deals with the transpiration cooling of a plate heated by radiation experimentally and theoretically.
