Sinopsis

In this work, microwave heating process for various lossy materials is modelled numerically. The illumination source is chosen as a plane wave radiator. The objects of different geometries, such as rectangular prism, pyramid, half sphere and cylinder are considered and their dielectric properties are determined. Electromagnetic field distribution within the object is obtained. By using the cascaded transmission line model terminated with a metal plate the temperature distribution is found and discussed.
