Sinopsis

An analysis of the mixed convection boundary layer flow on a vertical surface in a porous medium saturated by a nanofluid with internal heat generation is performed in this paper. The similarity equations are solved numerically for three types of metallic or non-metallic nanoparticles, namely copper (Cu), alumina (Al2O3) and titania (TiO2), in a water-based fluid, to investigate the effect of the heat generation coefficient and the nanoparticle volume fraction parameter of the nanofluid on the flow and heat transfer characteristics. The numerical results on the skin friction coefficient are presented in the forms of tables and figures along with the velocity profiles.
