SINOPSIS

Spray cooling is one of the best candidates for applications requiring an efficient high heat flux cooling technique. However, the understanding of spray cooling has been very limited. The last few years have seen a significant amount of research performed on the fundamental aspects of spray cooling. This chapter presents the current understanding of the spray cooling heat transfer process. A recently derived model and correlations for critical heat flux are also presented.
