Characteristics of a Plane Dielectric-Loaded Waveguide at Critical Spectral Points

RÉSUMÉ

A plane-parallel waveguiding structure with an unbounded lower wall, loaded by a dielectric slab infinite in both directions, is investigated. Characteristics of the resultant field are analyzed for the eigenmode excited structure in the case where the frequency parameter assumes its critical value. Simple expressions have been obtained for the factorable function at these values of the frequency parameter. The field characteristics are analyzed in dependence on the relative dielectric constant of the medium throughout the range of its values.
