Constructive Synthesis of Dispersive Oscillation Systems of Quasi-Optical Solid-State Millimeter-Wave Sources

RÉSUMÉ

Oscillation systems and characteristics of quasi-optical single diode Gunn- or IMPATT-oscillators with echelette and corner-echelette open resonators (ORs) are described. The matching of impedances of the oscillation system and a nonlinear element is accomplished by introducing low Q resonators or a step transformer. Fixed-frequency oscillators are implemented in the 27−115 GHz frequency band. The noise level is at most 80−120dB/Hz for a 10−kHz detuning from the carrier frequency.
