SURFACE GREEN TENSORS IN THE THEORY OF MICROSTRIP ANTENNAS
RÉSUMÉ
Because of compact sizes and produce ability the microstrip antennas are widely used as independent receiving or transmitting ones and components of phased antenna arrays. Nevertheless, at present there is no unified rigorous approach to investigating microstrip antennas of various geometries. The paper presents a novel approach to investigating characteristics of microstrip antennas with irradiators of various geometries based on the use of the surface Green tensors for a shielded magnetodielectric layer. Expressions have been derived for the Green tensor components conditioned by the surface electric currents. Some examples are presented of applying the suggested approach to solving the problem on a microstrip antenna within the approximation of a given surface current distribution and the problem on axially symmetric excitation of a disk microstrip antenna.
