A COMPLEX FOR MULTICOMPONENT MEASUREMENTS OF ELF–VLF ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS
RÉSUMÉ
The task of measurements of both the narrowband signals emitted by navigation and communication radio stations and broadband signals − radiation arises in the lower ionosphere by radio occultation of the Earth-ionosphere waveguide. Creating a universal receiver set for synchronous measurements of natural and artificial signals is of interest for increasing the information content of the data. This paper considers the issues of calculation of the design parameters of magnetic and electric field sensors to provide for the required broad throughput bandwidth, dynamic range and matching with the input circuits of antenna amplifiers. We present the algorithms for calculating the design parameters of the field sensors and a description of the program-hardware complex for measurement of pulse and narrow band electromagnetic fields in the ELF and VLF ranges. The software part of the complex, implemented on a personal computer, allows estimating the absolute level, spectrum, and polarization characteristics of the recorded pulse and narrowband fields in real time and storing the data in the twenty-four-hour mode.
