Signals Observation on Over-the-Horizon Paths during a Solar Eclipse in March 29, 2006
RÉSUMÉ
The measurements of signal levels were carried out on over-the-horizon paths during a solar eclipse in March 29, 2006. The decrease in the level of a signal received from the 6 TV broadcast channel was observed. In addition to the complex utilizing a signal of very high-frequency band transmitted by the TV center, the ionospheric signal being single-hop propagated from the high-frequency band broadcasting stations was used. The levels of received signals of both bands were changing during the solar eclipse. However, we can not unambiguously conclude about the solar eclipse influence on the signal level as a similar signal decreasing was observed some days before and after the eclipse.
