A Cylindrical Microstrip Antenna Placed on an Electrically Large Metal Cylinder: Excitation by a Plane Wave

RÉSUMÉ

The problem of field excitation by a plane wave is treated for a cylindrical microstrip antenna whose transverse sizes are greater than the wavelength. The solution has been obtained by the method of moments with the use of an improved representation for the Green function, adapted for the case of an electrically large cylinder. The representation considers the contribution from leaky waves in addition to the terms isolated earlier in a semianalytical form and corresponding to the field singularity near the source and the contribution of surface waves. The resonance regime is identified and the far-field is estimated.
