Millimeter-Wave Band Ship-Borne Navigational Radar (SBNR) Facility

RÉSUMÉ

It is shown that the narrowing of the antenna pattern of a ship-borne navigational radar in a vertical plane appears to be rather promising. The use of a horn-feed reflector antenna as a mm-wave band SBNR system has been theoretically validated. The geometrical optics technique proves to be useful in deriving the basic relations of the geometrical dimensions of the reflector in the shape of a sector cut out of the parabaloid of revolution with regard to a decrease in the wind loads the above parabaloid is exposed to.
